Video Conversions

Should I get my Videos converted to DVD or to a Digital File?

Good question.  Ultimately it depends on what you are going to do with your video once it has been converted.  If you are simply going to play it back in a DVD player to watch on your TV then a DVD will best.

If you want to edit the video using video editing software on your PC or Mac, then it will be best to get your video transferred to a digital file compatible with your editing software.

Digital files can also be shared online, stored on a computer Hard Drive / USB Drive and uploaded to 'Cloud' storage.  Many modern day Televisions sets can also play digital files.

If you want to have your videos stored as a digital file, but you also want to have the option to easily play them back on your Television, then you are best to have BOTH DVD and a Digital File.  We offer a discount if your order both DVD and Digital file at the same time, so you get the best of both options.

Pricing Information can be found by clicking here.

How long does it take?

This depends on how many videos you have and what our current workload is like, but 85% of our orders are turned around in 7 - 10 working days.  If we are overly busy, you will be told that it may take longer than this when you place your order.  Please note, we do get particularly busy around Christmas, Mothers Day & Fathers Day, so please get your order in early.  If you need your order completed by a certain date, please be sure to tell us at the time of placing your order.

Can the DVD's Provided be Copied?

Yes.  The DVD's provided are not copy protected in any way.

Can the DVD's Provided be edited?

Yes.  The DVD's are standard DVD Files and can be edited using digital editing software that has the ability to edit DVD's.  Please note, some editing software will require the video be formatted as a specific Digital File.  The DVD's can be converted to the correct file format using compatible Video Converting Software - or if you are unsure, allow us to provide the video in the format you require (see Should I get my Videos converted to DVD or Digital Files - Above).

Can the Digital Files be played back on my Television?

Some televisions have the ability to playback digital movie files via a memory card or USB Drive.

Can DVD's be played back on my PC or Mac?

Yes.  You will need to have a compatible media player installed on your PC (e.g. Windows Media Player) or Mac (VLC Media Player).

Do ALLtoDVD keep copies of our DVD's?

No. All video to DVD conversions are done straight from the video to the DVD, we don't make any duplicates (unless of course you have asked to make several copies).  If we are providing you will a Digital File, we will keep a copy for 2 - 3 weeks before deleting it, we would assume that you would have been back in touch with us within this time if there was a problem with the file, unfortunately due to data storage limitations, we can't keep copies indefinitely.
